How I Work
Starting counselling can feel like a big step, and it’s natural to wonder what it will be like. My aim is to make it as safe, supportive, and clear as possible.
I offer a grounded, compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. Every session is shaped around you, your pace, and your needs.
My Approach
I take an integrative approach, drawing on different therapeutic models to support you as an individual. This means that sessions are tailored to what feels most helpful for you, rather than following a fixed method.
Working together, I focus on:
-
Listening deeply to understand your experiences
-
Exploring patterns that may feel stuck or overwhelming
-
Supporting you to develop coping strategies and resilience
-
Creating a calm, non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to reflect
This approach allows you to explore your inner world, process difficult emotions, and move towards clarity, calm, and reconnecting with your true self.
Your Complimentary Consultation Call
Before booking your first session I offer a free 20 minute consultation call. This is a relaxed, no pressure chat where we can:
-
Talk about what has brought you to counselling
-
Answer any questions you may have
-
Explore whether working together feels like the right fit
It’s a simple way to take the first step and feel more confident about starting therapy.
Your First Counselling Session
When we begin your first session, we’ll take time to:
-
Talk about what brought you to counselling
-
Explore what you hope might feel different
-
Agree on how we will work together
Sessions typically last 50 minutes and are generally held weekly. You can attend in person in Rainham, Kent, or online via secure video.
A Collaborative and Supportive Space
Counselling works best when we work together as a team. My goal is to provide a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported, so you can explore what matters most to you and take gentle steps towards the changes you want in your life.
If you’re ready to take the next step, you can book a free consultation call, arrange your first session, or contact me using the form below. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
Counselling For Young People
Being a young person can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. School pressures, friendships, family changes, or just figuring out who you are can sometimes feel heavy. Counselling offers a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings, be heard, and start to make sense of what’s going on.
Sessions are tailored to you and your pace, so there’s no pressure — just a supportive environment where you can reflect, explore, and build confidence and resilience. We work together on what matters most to you, whether that’s managing emotions, navigating relationships, coping with change, or simply feeling more like yourself.
If you’re a parent or guardian, you can contact me to ask questions or arrange sessions. I’m happy to explain how counselling works for young people and support you in helping them get the most from their sessions.
Before starting, I also offer a free 20 minute consultation call. This relaxed chat is a chance for young people or parents/guardians to ask questions and see if counselling feels like the right fit.

Outdoor Walk & Talk Therapy
Sometimes it can feel uncomfortable working in a seated face to face environment. With this in mind I offer outdoor walk and talk therapy sessions.
These sessions consist of meeting outdoors where we have the space to walk, sit, talk and just be present as you share and experience the therapeutic process outside in nature.
For more information about these sessions please do contact me at caroline@carolinesharptherapies.co.uk.
Fees per session
Standard rate for in-person or online sessions for both adults and young people are £65 for 50 minutes.
I have a limited number of concession rated sessions of £50 per session for students, trainees and those on low income.
Outdoor walk & talk sessions are at a rate of £70 per session. Concessions available on request.
Additional fees are charged for young person parent/guardian review sessions.
Please do contact me at caroline@carolinesharptherapies.co.uk for more information.
